The Wedding and related activities will be held on the East (or 'Winward') side of the island. There are two contrasting options for accommodation Lanikai/Kailua Area and Waikiki Beach (Honolulu).
Waikiki Beach is approximately a 40 min scenic drive from the wedding activities via the Pali Highway.

Please keep in mind that the wedding falls on a US holiday long weekend and so you should book early.

Lanikai and Kailua Beach

Lanikai Beach is one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. It has pristine white sand, crystal clear water and two small islands on the horizon accessible by kayak.  The brides and families will be staying in this area.

PROS:

  • Get a true taste of Hawaiian life staying in the Lanikai Beach area. It is hidden away from the tourist activities of the busier Waikiki/Honolulu area.
  • Share an Airbnb beach house with a group and share the cost.
  • Great location for access to hikes, waterfalls, sandbars and the other natural attractions Hawaii has to offer.

cons:

  • Airbnbs in this area are Hawaiian bungalow style and will not have the ammenities or polish that hotels in Waikiki will have.

Waikiki Beach (Honolulu)

Waikiki Beach is Hawaii's most famous beach front hotel strip located in the city of Honolulu. This area is filled with cafes, restaurants and bars and has plenty of world class hotels to choose from.

There are hundreds of beachfront options on the Waikiki strip. Some of our personal favourites include the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and Resort The Royal Hawaiian, Moana Surfrider - Westin Resort, The Modern Honolulu and the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort.

PROS:

  • Incredible location on Waikiki Beach in the heart of the Honolulu tourist mecca.
  • Awesome views of Diamond Head Volcano and the Waikiki Bay.
  • Perfect beginners surf location.

CONS:

  • A very popular area so can be very busy.
  • Approx 40 min drive from wedding activities.
